Got my results on Monday @ 12.12am when Minmin msn-ed me that results are out online. The sms came in much later @ 3.52am. My grades are pretty much okay. Quite unexpected. BUT my GPA still sucked big time :( blardy hell. The fat fat modular credits of THAT module is sucking me dry. Urgh!

The Da Vinci Code Movie
Met up with Minmin to watch TDVC yesterday. Well, I had kinda little excitement and not-so-high expectation abt the movie cuz the reviews all over were unflattering. Anyway, i think the movie was alright and it's not so bad as what the reviews have said. The movie was watered down decently to a 150 min movie. Anyway, I still prefer the book over the movie.I found Tom Hanks who played Robert Langdon too cardboard-ish in the movie than in the book. Audrey Tautou, who played Sophie Nevue, was slightly better. She has a delectable french accent (She is french after all) and has a very very nice smile. But her accent gave me quite a headache in the midst of the show.. haha! Ian McKellen's performance as Leigh Teabing was great! Probably the best actor in the show. Next would be Silas, the albino monk who believes he's on a mission of God, and he was downright painful to watch. It was kinda gory to see him tie up some weird spiked belt around his thighs and self-flagellate. Minmin and me squirmed at the sight of the marks on his body.
There's this part where Tom Hanks recounted a story in which he was trapped in a well as a kid, and he prayed to Jesus, and he thinks that Jesus heard his prayers. Hmmm... i dun remember there was such a story in the novel. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) Well, Langdon was clearly not a Christian in the novel, but in the movie it seems like he is recast as a believer in Christianity.
Leonardo Da Vinci, Priory of Sion, Opus Dei, Mary Magdelene, The Vatican, The Pagans, The Holy Grail, Sir Isaac Newton, Knights Templar, keystone, rose line... Well, not having read the book earlier or unfamiliarity with these terms might throw you in the dark at times... haha!

Nearly faint when watching the show, not because the movie is boring. I was just not used to watch movie in that massive hemispheric screen. I still prefer to watch movie in cinemas. The globe screen in IMAX is too big... LOL!
I went to see Poseidon hoping that this was going to be, if not a great, at least a good movie. Sorry to say it is neither. This movie is kinda disappointing :( The only thing worthy abt the show is the special effects. The characters are nothing more than a crew of puppets moved about a sinking ship with absolutely ZERO personality. The characters are so UNDERDEVELOPED and it really gave the audience no valid reason to care if these people came out alive or not! I think the movie really suffered extremely from a plain bad script. Not worth the money. Sighs.

Well... now, my life seems to revolve around watching drama, playing computer, reading comics~ I felt estranged from the outside world. Almost everyday, i'm being plastered to the sofa in front of my tv watching dramas all day long. haiz... after all, there's three weeks left only :(
I fear all the little, pathetic socializing skills I have are gonna be lost finally if this continues. So... I need to go out, and be in contact with the outside world again. haha! Anyway, life isn't too bad now... cuz I derive JOY at home and I learn new things thru watching dramas and see how people interact. Moreover, I enjoy the thought-provoking parts :)
Another reason why I really wanna stay at home a lot these days is I realise how much money I spent when i'm outside :( depressing!
Review of the dramas I've been watching for the past week...
1) Qiang Wei Zhi Lian (The Rose)A show that impacts me the most. watched the vcds donkey times for 2 years and never get tired of it. itz pretty amazing how i got hooked onto this show.
The whole story is so warped. Incest + Homosexuality! Really cool plot and storyline! Story is adapted from a Jap comic... have been reading the comics for the past few days. both the drama and comic captivate me to the max becuz it really tells a story and the characters are developed in depth, so the viewers can understand their behaviour and feel for them. The genre is very different from those typical Taiwanese idol drama.A lil bit abt the story (fyi my viewpoint of the story centres around my darling Zheng Yuan Chang ;P)...
Initially, Zheng Yuan Chang (ZYC) is in love with his bro. yeah.. it seems to be like a sign of homosexuality, yet he doesn't have any interest in other guys. hmm~ When Ella (she's supposedly short, chubby and ugly and has an inferiority complex) moves in with the family, ZYC begins to develop feelings for her. ZYC is unwilling to believe that the first girl that he loves is actually his own blood-related elder sister... so... he's in love with these two siblings.... (btw, it's a M18 version i have).
The drama preserves the established roles of the original story and the story's infrastructure, also strengthens the personality of the characters, making them stand out, detailing the turning points of the character's mood within the show. Furthermore, the plot guides the audience through an even deeper layer of thinking on love, family and friendship.Not to forget, the show really taught me many things. I do hope i'd be able to remember (thats why i'm constantly watching the show. LOL). ok.. though i have lots of thoughts, they were all jumbled up. Everything went *blink*.
Anyway, I think it's kinda refreshing to see such a warped story :) Gahhhh~ I love this series so much. Real glad... Mmm... Satiated! WHEEEEE!!! I adore ZHENG YUAN CHANG becuz of this show :D
2) It Started With a Kiss (E Zuo Ju Zhi Wen)A romance between a super genius (starring Zheng Yuan Chang again) and a cute, clumsy, silly girl (starring Ariel Lin Yi Chen). There are lots of funny and touching scenes.. so sweet :)
Ariel spent 5 years to woo ZYC... LOL. Ariel was the school joke in college... damn funny. It's a must-see drama for gals who have been swooning and desperately hoping that their I-can't-reach-you crushes would like them back someday... haha! this drama hit me bad that i cried buckets when ZYC, after 5 long years, finally says "I love you" to Ariel because the girl wanted to move on... *orhhhh* anyway, it's a happy and funny ending!
It's a mixture of comedy, laughter, and drama ( it's hilarious! I swear! ) especially the scenes depicting Ariel's wild, indecent and funny imagination :D
Too sweet to be handled... :)
3) Chinese Paladin (Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan)This is a pugilistic drama which is full of kung fu action, CG effects and some wacky humour. A show that has really gave me many good cries... Wonderful! The whole show is pathetically depressing, with so many sad stories in it. I jus kept crying for some episodes... machiam water tap lidat~ tears flowed uncontrollably and what i saw was kinda blurred at times.. lol.
One of the characters talked abt this... happiness, sadness, jealousy, anger - all these feelings are juz our own attitude towards things. It's actually our call to decide how we should feel. Perhaps if we view things from other perspectives, they don't really affect us that much. (Haiyoh... Easier said than done though. I always knew it's no good to have some thoughts and emotions but they juz come at that time and screw me up.. bleahz)
4) Da Chang JinOkie i'll tok abt this show next time... i'm still far from the final episode... at episode 50plus only.. LOL. will tok abt it when i finish the whole show...
Well well well.... i'm hoping to catch the following dramas after i complete the all the above shows...
Love Contract (Ai Qing He Yue) starring Ariel Lin Yi Chen & Mike He JunXiang :))) but heard from sil that this show is kinda draggy~ saw some scenes in youtube.. seems nice.. hmm~
Full House starring Rain & Song Hye Kyo :D its a hilarious and wacky show~ woohoo! 
Tian Wai Fei Xian (Fairy in Wonderland) starring Ariel Lin and Hu Ge~ those who have watched it commented that itz a fab show... :) there's 3 singaporean actresses in the show as well... 
Since there's sg actresses acting in this show, mediacorp should be showing the series (hopefully soon!)

All the above said, I think it's still healthier for me catch up with old friends. If I don't have new ones, then keep the old ones and make sure they are treated right... hahaha!!!
